02 Preparing Your Device
2.1 Device Charging
Connect the camera’s USB-C socket to a suitable power adapter with the supplied cable. The reference device supports USB-C PD fast charging: approximately 18 minutes to reach 80%, or 32 minutes for a full charge. Actual charging time depends on temperature and the adapter used.
2.2 Powering On/Off
To start the reference camera, turn its touchscreen clockwise or briefly press the shutter button. When no recording is in progress, hold the shutter button or fold the screen back counterclockwise to shut down.
2.3 Product Activation
Complete the initial setup in the companion app before recording. Open the app download page and follow the installation instructions for your phone.
For first-time setup, switch off any paired remote controller so that the phone can discover the camera. Enable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on the phone, open the companion app, choose the camera connection option, and work through the activation prompts.
2.4 Firmware Update
Connect the camera to its companion app and check for an update notification. Keep the devices charged and connected while the update runs; wait for the completion message before using the camera again.
03 Product Usage
3.1 Rotatable Touchscreen and Button Functions
Camera buttons
Rotating display
The following demonstration shows the display movement and the main button operations.
3.2 Shooting Settings
3.2.1 Choose a recording mode
Use the mode selector at the lower-left of the live view to choose how to capture the scene. In the reference example, the available choices cover still photos, standard video, low-light recording, slow motion, panoramas, and several time-lapse modes.
3.2.2 Adjust recording parameters
Swipe upward from the live view to find the recording settings. Resolution, frame rate, and the other available controls depend on the currently selected capture mode.
3.2.3 Adjust picture and sound
Swipe left to open the image and audio controls. This is where the reference camera offers appearance adjustments, app-based effects, film looks, and a log color profile. Review a short test recording after changing these settings.
3.3 Gimbal Mode
A mechanically stabilized gimbal helps keep movement smooth. Open the quick settings by swiping down, then select the gimbal behavior that best suits your shot. Try each mode before starting an important recording.
3.4 Intelligent Shooting Features
3.4.1 Follow a subject
Select the subject in the camera view and enable tracking. The reference demonstration shows tracking for people, vehicles, pets, and other subjects. Its tracking range extends through the zoom range, up to 12×.
3.4.2 Keep a group in frame
Group tracking adjusts the composition to include several people. On the reference device, as many as three people can be registered as priority subjects, helping the camera decide who should remain prominent in the shot.
3.4.3 Select a focus behavior
Different scenes call for different focusing behavior. These are the focus options illustrated by the reference camera:
• Single: set focus once, then leave it at that distance for a scene that remains still.
• Continuous: allow the camera to keep adjusting focus as the subject moves.
• Subject lock: select a person and let the camera follow that subject’s focus position.
• Registered priority: favor a subject that has already been saved in the camera.
• Product demonstration: make it easier to bring an item close to the lens and show its details.
Open the image controls, enter the advanced shooting mode, and choose the focus option that matches your scene.
3.4.4 Operate with gestures
Enable gesture operation when you need to work without touching the camera. The reference demonstration uses these two gestures:
• Open palm: use a raised palm to start or end subject tracking.
• V sign: trigger the photo countdown or control the recording state.
Tip: The reference camera allows gesture operation across its focal lengths, with an option to recognize only registered subjects.
3.4.5 Appearance adjustments
On-camera adjustments
Open the appearance controls to choose the amount of smoothing and brightness, then select the desired skin-tone treatment. Start with subtle settings and check the result in the same lighting as the final shot.
Tip: In the reference example, the appearance adjustment and the film-look feature are mutually exclusive.
Effects in the companion app
Some effects are previewed in the phone app rather than on the camera’s own screen. Connect the camera and check the app preview to see the result. The reference workflow supports this in standard and low-light video modes.
3.4.6 Apply a film look
The reference camera provides six preset looks, ranging from soft pastel colors to warmer and retro treatments. Each look can be applied at four strengths—30%, 50%, 70%, and 100%—so you can choose a lighter or stronger result.
Swipe left from the live view, find the film-look control, and compare the available presets before recording.
Tip: Availability varies with capture mode. The reference example supports film looks in standard and slow-motion video, with restrictions in the other modes.
3.5 Connecting Accessories
3.5.1 Pair a wireless microphone
A compatible wireless microphone can improve speech recording without a cable to the camera. The reference device can pair directly with up to two supported transmitters over Bluetooth, without requiring a separate receiver.
Pairing steps
1. Open the camera’s system settings, choose the wireless microphone menu, and start pairing.
2. Put the transmitter into pairing mode and complete the connection prompts. Return to the live view and check the audio meter before recording. Previously paired devices can reconnect when powered on again.
3.5.2 Connect a viewfinder remote
A portable screen remote lets you frame a shot and operate the camera from a distance. The reference demonstration covers live preview, gimbal control, capture-mode selection, and selecting a subject to track.
Connection steps
1. Power on the remote and select the camera from the nearby device list. Compare the verification code shown on both devices, then confirm the connection on the camera.
2. Once paired, turn both devices on again to reconnect and restore the live preview.
3.5.3 Attach a fill light
Use a compatible fill light when the scene needs more illumination. The reference accessory unfolds and attaches to the contacts behind the gimbal arm. It provides three brightness levels and three color-temperature choices.
3.5.4 Fit a lens or filter
Before changing the optical accessory, keep the lens surfaces clean. On the reference unit, the protective cover releases counterclockwise. Seat the replacement fully and rotate it clockwise until secure; do not force a misaligned fitting.
3.5.5 Additional accessories
• Threaded handle: improve the grip and provide a 1/4-inch mounting point.
• Battery handle: add operating time and allow a battery change during use where supported.
• Mini tripod: keep the camera steady for a fixed composition.
• Expansion adapter: connect the camera to additional mounting accessories.
Tip: Confirm what is included in the selected kit. Some handles, mounting adapters, and other accessories are optional purchases.

3.6.3 Move files to another device
Keep a separate copy of important recordings on your phone or computer. Choose a cable connection or a supported wireless transfer method.
• USB transfer: connect the camera to a computer with a suitable high-speed cable. In the reference setup, internal-storage transfers can reach 800 MB/s with USB 3.1.
• Wireless transfer: use the companion app to copy files over Wi-Fi. The reference setup quotes transfer speeds up to 90 MB/s.
3.7 Powering Off and Storage
Remove the fill light and any wide-angle attachment before switching off and packing the reference camera. Allow the gimbal to return to its storage position, then protect the camera for transport.

05 FAQs
How do the two reference lenses work?
The reference camera has a wide lens and a medium-telephoto lens, equivalent to 20 mm and 60 mm respectively. It chooses the appropriate lens for the selected zoom level, with one lens recording at a time.
How much footage fits in internal storage?
For the reference camera, 103 GB of storage holds roughly 570 minutes at 1080p/24 fps or 210 minutes at 4K/60 fps when using the standard bitrate. Your available time changes with the recording settings and free space.
Tip: Storage capacity and battery endurance measure different things. Available storage time does not mean the battery will last for the same duration.
What does the additional battery handle change?
Under the reference test conditions, the camera runs for up to 210 minutes on its own battery at 1080p/24 fps. A fully charged compatible handle adds approximately 130 minutes in that test.
Test conditions: 25°C ambient temperature, 1080p/24 fps recording in 16:9, Wi-Fi disabled, and the display switched off. Actual use will vary.
